Beyond the swim: The magic of discovering Mallorca from the water
There’s a world of difference between visiting a cove and arriving there by sea.
Most travellers know Mallorca for its beaches, charming stone villages, and the winding roads of the Serra de Tramuntana. But there is another side of the island—one that only reveals itself to those who experience it from the water. A Mallorca of dramatic cliffs, hidden sea caves, and secluded bays where the only sound is the gentle lapping of waves against the rocks.
When we set out aboard our MasterCraft, we’re not simply looking for a place to drop anchor. We’re searching for that special spot that makes everyone on board pause, look around, and think exactly the same thing: this was worth the journey.
The best coves are not always the most famous ones. More often, they are small inlets sheltered from the wind, with white sandy seabeds that turn the water into impossible shades of turquoise. Places where time seems to slow down. Where you can dive in without a plan, float beneath the open sky, or discover what lies beneath the surface.
The Mediterranean You Can’t See from Shore
Few people realise just how much life exists beneath the crystal-clear waters of southwest Mallorca.
With nothing more than a mask and snorkel, you can observe schools of Mediterranean fish weaving through vast underwater meadows of Posidonia oceanica. This remarkable seagrass is one of the Mediterranean’s most valuable ecosystems and one of the reasons these waters are so exceptionally clear.
There is something inherently adventurous about snorkelling. Every rocky outcrop may conceal a small underwater world. Every crevice can reveal unexpected shapes, colours, and marine life. It’s a simple activity, suitable for almost everyone, yet it creates a surprisingly deep connection with the sea and its surroundings.
Seabob: A New Way to Experience the Sea
And then there’s the Seabob.
At first glance, it looks like something from the future. In reality, it’s one of the most exciting and immersive ways to explore the Mediterranean.
This electric watercraft uses a powerful yet quiet jet propulsion system, allowing you to glide effortlessly across the surface or dive beneath it. Simply hold on and let the Seabob pull you through the water with a feeling of freedom unlike almost any other watersport.
What makes the Seabob so special isn’t just its speed—it’s the perspective it offers.
One moment, you’re skimming across the surface like a dolphin. The next, you’re descending beneath the water to observe the seabed from a completely different angle. The transition between these two worlds feels so natural that you quickly forget you’re using a machine at all.
Unlike many watersports that require experience or a certain level of fitness, the Seabob is surprisingly intuitive. Most people feel comfortable using it within minutes and soon find themselves confidently exploring the coastline and underwater landscapes.
For many of our guests, it becomes the highlight of the day. Not because it’s extreme, but because it offers something genuinely rare: the opportunity to experience the sea in an entirely new way.
The Seabob is available as an optional add-on for selected charters and is often booked in advance, particularly during the peak summer season. If you’d like to include this unique experience as part of your day on the water, we recommend mentioning it when making your reservation or contacting us directly to check availability.
The Luxury of Taking Your Time
Perhaps that’s why the best days at sea rarely follow a strict schedule.
It’s not about visiting as many places as possible. It’s about finding one that deserves to be enjoyed.
A swim in crystal-clear water. A snorkelling session among Mediterranean fish. A Seabob adventure along the coastline. A cold drink on deck as the sun slowly sinks towards the horizon.
Simple moments, yet increasingly rare ones.
And perhaps that’s the real reason we keep returning to the sea: because for a few precious hours, it allows us to disconnect from the noise of everyday life and reconnect with what truly matters.
